Dennie Hamilton was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007. He has extensive experience in the utility industry including more than 25 years combined experience at large investor-owned utilities Reliant Energy and Entergy. He held a number of leadership positions encompassing retail operations, customer service, regional operations, natural gas distribution and sales and marketing. During that time, he led numerous projects to improve both customer service and business efficiency. Hamilton currently serves as Chair of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council Board of Directors, sits on the North American Reliability Corporation Board of Trustees Member Representative Committee, is a charter member of the Southwest Florida Tiger Bay Club, sits on the Board of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, and also serves on the Texas A&M Energy Institute External Advisory Board. He has served as president of the Lee County Horizon Foundation, was a founding director of the Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance and chair of the 2015 Lee County Heart Walk.
Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in radiation protection engineering and a Master of Engineering degree in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane University. At LCEC, his leadership is focused on providing reliable electricity and quality service at the lowest reasonably achievable price.
