How to Read Your Bill

Account #: This is the account number for the service address(s) within the bill. This account number is needed to register for SmartHub.
Billing Date: The date the bill is printed.
Current Bill Due Date: The date the current charges are due. This does not include any past due balance.
Previous Balance: Amount of previous bill.
Payment: Date and payment(s) amount posted to the account between the last month’s billing date and the current billing date.
Current Charges Due: Latest amount due and due date of charges between reading dates.

Late Charge Applied: A $10 late fee is applied (on the 6th day after the due date) if previous balance was not paid in full. Any portion of the current balance that is not paid becomes past due.
Disconnect Notice Mailed: Date the disconnect notice will be mailed. This notice indicates what date the member is eligible for disconnection due to non-payment of past due charges.
Next Bill Date:Date next bill generates.

Rate Schedule Description: The rate or charge for a particular classification of service. Click here for an index of rate schedules.
Meter No: Associated to the service address. The meter measures the amount of consumption for the location. Can be located on the face of the meter.
Reading Dates: The number of service days included in the billing cycle which may vary each month due to weekend, holidays, and the dates we read your meter.
Readings: Measures kWh usage from the last billed meter reading date to the current meter reading date.
Multiplier: This is the conversion of units into Kilowatt units.
kWh Usage: Total Kilowatt hours used between billing periods.

Current Service Detail Customer Charge: A fixed monthly charge to cover the cost of providing service to your location.

Power cost adjustment: A charge reflecting the difference between the actual cost of purchased power from the wholesale supplier and the base wholesale cost of power included in the energy charge.
Gross Receipts Tax: A tax that is levied by the State of Florida on LCEC’s total gross receipts and remitted to the State in accordance with applicable laws.
The following charges may or may not apply to all customers. This depends on service address.Public Service Tax: A tax assessed by a municipality when applicable. All monies collected are paid to the municipality. Also referred to as municipal tax.
Franchise Fee: A fee paid to the applicable city/county for the right or privilege to utilize the public property of the city/county for the purpose of supplying electric service. All monies collected are paid to the city/county.
County Tax: A discretionary sales surtax imposed by individual Florida counties. This tax is remitted to the State of Florida and then distributed to the counties where the surtax is levied.
Sales Tax: A tax levied by the State of Florida, when applicable, at the current rate. This tax is remitted to the state in accordance with state laws.
