LCEC Energy Advisor Obtains Green Certification
Monday, May 4, 2009 - North Fort Myers, Fla.

LCEC proudly announces that Residential Energy Programs Coordinator Noah Blanco is now a Florida Green Home Certifying Agent through the Florida Green Building Coalition. As a Green Certifying Agent, Blanco can advise on elements of green building including energy efficiency, water conservation, “GREEN landscaping” with drought-tolerant plants and green building materials such as bamboo.

Noah Blanco has 13 years of experience in energy services, and has been with LCEC since May 2004. In addition to his new green certification, he also holds accreditation in mold analysis, energy efficient Florida home building, air conditioning systems, energy analysis for obtaining tax credits, and energy efficient mortgages. He is a licensed energy-rater through the Florida Solar Energy center, a research institute of the University of Central Florida.

Currently, LCEC Energy Advisors consult on how home and business owners can save energy and reduce construction costs of very energy-efficient homes through its GoodCents Homes program. With Blanco’s new certification, LCEC will now be able to further serve members and GoodCents builders by offering consultations on green subject matter. Future developments in full-program offerings through LCEC may also be on the horizon.

As one of his first green consultation projects, Blanco is working with a customer on Marco Island who is building a Green Home, complete with sustainable materials, local ecosystem-friendly landscaping and high-efficiency water and energy upgrades.

Green building certification is still a relatively emerging expertise. Consumers looking to build a “Green Certified” home can ask their builder if they offer this service. Consumers can also visit www.floridagreenbuilding.org  to find a list of certified builders.
