LCEC Participates in Arbor Day Tree Planting
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 - North Fort Myers, Fla.

Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance encouraging tree planting and care. Historically, Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday in April. However, the Lee Riders 4-H Club is starting the celebration early! On April 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m., 23 4-H members aged 5 to 18 will join forces with a host of community partners to plant 26 Cypress trees at LCEC corporate headquarters. An LCEC property representative will be onsite to share ideas about planting, nurturing and celebrating trees. Local businesses, All Native Garden Center and B & L Custom Services partnered with the club to provide the trees which are five feet tall.

4-H Club Leader, Linda Baer, and Community Service Coordinator Brianna Sherkus brought the group together to honor the day. “It’s important to do our part to help clean the air, provide a home for birds and help to fight global warming,” Brianna explained to her fellow 4-H team members as they planned for this weekend’s event.
