LCEC Chief Executive Officer Pamela May retires, Dennie Hamilton named next CEO
It’s hard to believe that in LCEC’s 67-year history only three professionals have held the title of LCEC Chief Executive Officer. Beginning July 1, Dennie Hamilton will be added to the list. In addition to serving as LCEC’s Director of Administration for just over two years, Hamilton has extensive experience in the utility industry. His professional background includes over 20 years combined experience at large investor-owned utilities Reliant Energy and Entergy. At those companies he held a number of leadership positions encompassing retail operations, customer service, regional operations, natural gas distribution and sales and marketing. During that time, he led numerous projects to improve both customer service and business efficiency. He participated in various community activities, including serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum of Arkansas.
Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in radiation protection engineering and a Master of Engineering degree in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane University.
"I am honored that the Board of Trustees has entrusted me with this responsibility," Hamilton said. "LCEC has a history and reputation for delivering reliable service to customers and consistently meets challenges presented by difficult economic times. LCEC is dedicated to doing everything that it can to help its members during these trying times. I'm glad to be a part of the organization and look forward to our adding to the LCEC success story."
Hamilton will replace Pamela May who held the position of Chief Executive Officer for 13 years.
