PURPA Amended through the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007)
LCEC CONSIDERATION AND DETERMINATION
Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc., (LCEC) has completed the process in considering the statutory directives in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007), which amended the Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA). EISA 2007 established new Federal standards under Section 111(d) of PURPA, which each non-regulated electric utility is required to consider and make a determination whether or not it is appropriate to implement such standard(s) within certain defined time lines based on evidence collected from interested persons after public notice and hearing.
In accordance with the prescribed public process, the LCEC Board of Trustees considered each of the EISA 2007 Standards in the context of the stated purpose of PURPA. The determination followed these considerations and evidence presented through public comments and during the course of the public hearing. This Public Determination is posted on LCEC's Web site at www.lcec.net and will be made available to any Eligible Participant upon request at cost.
